Playsuits and Haute Pursuits

“Happiness is not a's a by-product of a life well lived.”

So this is going to be a bit of a life lately post to accompany the images of this beautiful floral dress by Forever21. It's listed on the site as a Playsuit but it's not. Just the one leg hole

So most of you know by now that I started a new job this week, it's been update after update on my  social channels regarding how nervous I was, how amazing it's been and how excited I now am for all the upcoming projects in my role. It's crazy to think that this little blog bagged me a job in fashion, something I've always wanted but never quite been brave enough to tackle head on. I get asked all the time whether I did a degree in fashion which is nice considering I actually did a degree in History and wrote my dissertation on early 20th century Submarines. Yes really....

It's true I did and still do love Hisotry but during my post-grad years my experience with and love of fashion has grown and grown as I've been worked tirelessly on creating style and clothing content for my blog. I started to wonder how I could make fashion my career. I looked into University courses but was quickly dissuaded by the fees, having already done one degree there was little funding available for a second. Then one day I saw an advert to work with a luxury mens fashion label. I emailed over my CV and a covering letter with links to my website, I didn't let me lack of degree phase me, I simply concentrated on the fact that I had something much more important than a silly piece of paper. I had experience, I had hard work and I had a successful blog to prove it. The Director of the company rang me 10 minutes later to invite me to interview and a week later I had the job, my dream job

So I guess this post has really just turned into yet another of my (hopefully) inspiring messages about not giving up, working hard, letting your passion shine through, not worrying about what others think and most of all believing in yourself. I did and now I get to start a new chapter
