January Top Three Beauty Buys

Chanel Rouge Coco Baume, Hydrating Conditioning Lip balm

I picked up this beautiful lipbalm on a New Years shopping spree as I like to treat myself to a Chanel treat once a year, ok twice, maybe three or seven times.

Ok, so as with all Chanel products you're paying for the packaging. But the formula itself is fantastic, it manages not to be greasy whilst still managing to hydrate and nourish. It sits beautifully under lipstick, protecting your lips all day long with with it's tasteless, colourless, fragrance-free formula. Far too many times I've splurged on a lipbalm only to realise that it's slimy goop that tastes like ass. But not this time!

I like to keep this balm in my bag and reapply throughout the day as this harsh British climate plays absolute havoc with my lips

Clarins Instant Smoothing Perfecting Touch Primer

This primer is my go-to primer, it's cheerful cherry-red glass jar has adorned my dressing table and provided flawless foundation for over three years now. This primer creates the ultimate blank canvas for foundation application, smoothing over wrinkles, unevenness, large pores and even blemishes as the pretty pink formula settles to amiable transparent shade, giving you make-up major staying power for up to 12 hours. I wouldn't trust anything else now as even with it's silicone content its still great for everyday wear and doesn't make me break out like other, cheaper formulas have in the past

Even when I was a disgusting student, out on all night benders, passing out with a full face on (I know CARDINAL SIN) I could still roll into lectures with my make-up intact and bullshit my way out of an essay I hadn't done. This stuff doesn't budge

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

Someone once said to me "I'm too young to use anti-aging products." Well guess what honey? None of us are ever "too young" to start looking after our skin, maintaining it's hydration levels and evening our skintone. Prevention is better than a cure and this stuff is sleep in a bottle, essential to keeping our faces looking crease-free in our hectic, mile a minute modern lives
The Fragrance-free formula uses Vitamin and Plant based antioxidants to protect and hydrate the skin providing a bright and radiant blemish free skintone. Yes it's eye-wateringly pricey but you only need one tiny drop before bed each night and as someone who battles skin issues on a daily basis I can confirm that this stuff improved my skin by 100% in just 2 short weeks of use. Honestly my skin is in the best condition it's ever been and I feel so much more confident going make-up free to the gym and wherever else I can't be bothered to get tarted up for

  1. I recently picked up a Chanel rouge coco lipstick and I am in love ( with the product not only the dreamy packaging I may add) xx

  2. I love the jump from three to seven Chanel buys! I've always used the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil as I can see the improvement after just one use - but when my current bottle dries up I might stretch to try the EL Advanced Night Repair - sounds like it's the same sort of thing with added anti-aging (I agree with you... never too soon!).

    Great post :)
