We are well and truly into Summer now and what a scorcher it’s
been. Rushing from meeting to meeting in the heat whilst heavily pregnant has been
a bit of trial, so I’m always happy to get home and sit on my bed with the room
fan on tornado speed setting. The heatwave also prompted a slight bedroom
makeover as all the cosy lodge style décor which occupies the space in winter
has been put away in favour of cool, crisp white. Yes, my endless obsession
with white.
I saw these beautiful white and gold polkadot cushions on
Etsy and absolutely fell in love. However I was loathe to pay the extortionate
Etsy prices, not to mention the shipping costs. I found a similar material on
eBay and proceeded to sew the covers myself before stuffing them with IKEA “inner” cushion.
Altogether the two cushions cost me less than £10 which is pretty good if you’re
handy with a needle and thread.
Speaking of IKEA, that’s also where the bedding and surprisingly
lightweight throw are from. The fairy lights too are from IKEA, they’re battery
powered which is handy as I tend to make use of the two bedside plug sockets.
I’ve also sneakily managed to feature my beautiful Pauls
Boutique Maisy Colour Block bag in this shot, predictably… in white.
Going minimal and adding elements of white is an effective
and easy way to freshen up a space. Keeping those white elements free of fake-tan,
make-up and in my case chocolate biscuit crumbs is the tricky bit

I bought a new mattress at the start of the year and it's the comfiest thing ever. I think I'm weirdly obsessed with my bed, when I'm not in it I think about when I can next be in it!
