Beauty bargains for under £10 to brighten up your Monday

3 things to brighten up your Monday

First up, contouring. Contouring is sweeping the nation and the dramatic before and after shots of Kim K and Helen Flanagan buzzing around the internet are literally triggering women to hurl their purses in the direction of the nearest make up counter. If you want to try contouring for yourself you actually don't need to apply for a new credit card, the Sleek Face Form Contouring palette has become a firm favourite among the blogger community and is available from Superdrug for just £9.99 in Medium, Fair and Light. I've been playing with mine all weekend and it's the best one I've found, the highlighter is subtle as is the blush and bronzer so it's great for those of us less practiced.

Next up the new MUA luxe velvet lip lacquer (try saying that in a hurry) for a penny-pinching £3 also at Superdrug. The collection is available in 5 colours; Reckless Criminal, Atomic, Funk and Kooky.

"Long - lasting and kiss proof, these intense formulas encased in chic frosted glass packaging glide on with the ease of a gloss, drying in seconds into a matte velvety texture."

Now, I'm not one of those people on a night out constantly running to the loo to see if they've turned into Krusty the Clown yet. I'm far too lazy. So I like to know that when I put my lipstick on, it's going to stay on until I actually require the use of the loo and can therefore do a quick touch up. I tested this product on my hand in the shop. 6 hours and several wetwipes later it was still on my hand which gave me a good indication that this was the product for me and for those of us too busy throwing shapes on the dancefloor for the constant upkeep most lip products require. This stuff dries really quickly and stays on ridiculously well. The shade pictured below is Atomic.  Click to buy

And finally... Who has about 7 make-up bags all full of half used products? Who can never find that eyeliner they desperately need? Yes, me too. April is the perfect time for a spring clean, especially when it comes to Make-up. Check how long you've had stuff. Does it need to be binned? Clean your brushes. You would not believe how much bacteria gets into them. And finally; find a storage solution where you aren't up-ending bag after bag of random products like a crazed maniac, frantically searching for what you need. Invest in some see-through, perspex storage so you can beautifully display (and easily locate) your products. I looked into this and companies like Luminati have some beautiful storage... for a £165 a throw... Yes perhaps not.

Luckily following a little more digging around I found lots of choice on Amazon, a set of 3 drawers and a Large Acrylic Make-up Organiser for under £10 each! Bargain.

I now have a bin full of grotty make-up bags and a display to be proud of. Roll on Spring!
